HOOKED ON BAMBOO For me it never gets old...thats how I knew that this craft was for me. It started by buying and old boat rod to put on display. Well that rod never made it to the wall...curious as I am ,I took it apart to see how it was made...I was hooked from that point on! No Fishing rod looks better than a cane rod. Each time you look at a cane rod you see something different...from the grain of the cane...to the silk of the wraps...to the fine nickle silver hadware...to the exotic real seat wood. The average rod takes between 60 to 80 hours to complete. Sometime's longer. So remember, when you gasp at the price of a well made cane rod, your average maker charging 800 dollars..is making 10 dollars an hour!!! Most dont do it for the money...just the love of the craft! A cane rod is an investment of a lifetime for both the maker and the buyer!
